Presidential History Resources

Presidential Biographies:   Each biography is broken into sections ranging from "Life Before the Presidency" to image galleries.  These resources will make it possible for students to research and compare presidents.

Lesson Plans:   Unique lesson plans have been developed for each program in The American President series.  Materials have also been created to help students explore individual presidents, American history, and the upcoming presidential election.  

Web Resources:  Teachers all over the country have evaluated hundreds of online resources on the history of the presidency, individual presidents, American history, and the upcoming presidential election. 

Essays:  Historians, journalists, and educators offer their insights on individual presidents, the office of the presidency, and the 2000 election.  Writers for this section include Time magazine's special correspondent on the presidency, Hugh Sidey.

Historical Documents:  Throughout the upcoming months, we will post important primary source documents on this website.
